Kay Vinson Brandt

Kay Vinson Brandt, a resident of the Bedford, Texas community, passed away on February 27, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on June 26, 1936, to Fred S. Apple and Maurine (Mathews) Apple in McKinney, Texas. Kay was a proud graduate of Allen High School in Allen, Texas, class of 1953.

On July 5, 1978, Kay married the love of her life, Marlin Brandt, in Lawton, Oklahoma. Together, they shared many cherished moments and built a life filled with love and laughter.

Kay worked in various administrative positions over the years. Her dedication and hard work left a lasting impact on those she served. In her leisure time, Kay found joy in cooking for her family and spending time in Bible study with her dear friends. Her warm meals and kind spirit brought comfort to many, and her devotion to her faith was evident in all aspects of her life.  Kay was a devoted member of White's Chapel Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas, where she found comfort and community in her faith.

Kay Vinson Brandt will be remembered fondly for her unwavering love for her family, her generous spirit, and her steadfast faith. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Kay is survived by her husband, Marlin Brandt of Beford, Texas; daughters, Tanis Northcutt and husband, Ralph of Irving, Texas and Cynthia Hyles and husband, Gean of Hursts, Texas; sons, Gary Crouch and wife, Debbie of Las Vegas and Bradley Brandt and wife, Sharon of Georgetown, Texas; and a host of family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fred “Bob” Apple, Jr. and sister, Nina Apple Brown.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2024 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 prior to the service.
