A Graveside Service is scheduled for Mrs. Kay Lynnette Fudge Nix, 62 year old Cypress, Texas resident, for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Hogeye/Celeste Cemetery near Celeste, Texas. Dan Dawson will officiate. There will also be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Kay, Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the West Side church of Christ, located at 709 W. Arch Ave., Searcy, Arkansas 72143. Burial will be in the Hogeye/Celeste Cemetery near Celeste, Texas. Family viewing and visitation is scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel of Leonard.

Kay was born January 4, 1958 in Victoria, Texas. Her parents were Cecil and Dona Teague Fudge. She attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas and a Master’s Degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. She taught in the public school systems of Texas and Arkansas for more than 25 years, with her last 18 years being in the Cabot Public Schools, with 10 plus years in the Pre-K program.

She married Bobby Wayne Nix, June 14, 1980 in Houston, Texas. Kay was an avid runner, having run in several 10Ks and half marathons. She also enjoyed biking and rode in several biking events. She loved the outdoors, was a sojourner and a full-time RVer who loved to travel. She especially loved her kids and grandkids.

Kay is survived by her husband: Bobby Wayne Nix of Cypress, TX; her children and their mates: Ryan and Joanna Nix of Searcy, AR, Keith and Alyssa Nix of Cypress, TX and Kevin and Lauren Nix of Dallas, TX; her brothers and their mates: Donald and Phyllis Fudge and Allen and Robin Fudge, all of Houston; her grandchildren: Travis Nix, Natalie Nix, Levi Nix, all of Searcy, AR and Blakely Nix of Cypress, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs Kay Nix was Christian's prek teacher. She was an awesome teacher & very much loved. She will be deeply missed.
