Kathy Sanchez, age 73, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026. She was born on June 17, 1952, in Lyman, South Carolina, to Horace Eugene and Annie Virginia Jones Bridges.

Kathy was a proud graduate of Brenham High School, Class of 1970. On August 5, 1972, in Brenham, Texas, she married the love of her life, Pete A. Sanchez. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and shared dreams.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pete; her parents; her sister, Lucy Bouldin; and her brothers, Horace Bridges and Oliver Eugene Bridges.

Kathy is survived by her three sons: Miguel (Anna) Sanchez of Denton, Ramon Sanchez of Allen, and Marcos (Whitney) Sanchez of Whitewright. She also leaves behind her four cherished grandchildren—Damian, Brenden, Mason, and Ava—who were truly the center of her world.

Kathy’s life was defined by her deep devotion to her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with warmth, laughter, and love. She especially looked forward to celebrating holidays and treasured the Sanchez family’s annual tamale-making day, a tradition that brought everyone together and reflected her love of both family and food. She also loved dancing with her husband and enjoyed trips to the casinos, where she made many happy memories.

Professionally, Kathy enjoyed a successful career as an escrow officer, where she was respected for her dedication and integrity. Outside of work, she had a true passion for cooking. She was especially known for her exceptional homemade salsa, which she and her husband proudly turned into a family business, Salsa De Sanchez.

Kathy will be remembered for her strength, her generous heart, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the lives she touched.

There will be no viewing or funeral services. A celebration of Kathy’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
