Kathryn Starnes of Dallas, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, at the age of 78. She was born on June 4, 1946, in Dallas to Thomas Joseph Satery and Mary Kathryn (Campbell) Satery.

A proud graduate of Bryan Adams High School in Dallas, Kathryn went on to lead a life full of love, faith, and devotion. On December 27, 1984, she married the late Glen Byron Starnes in McKinney, Texas, and together they shared many years of marriage filled with cherished moments.

Kathryn was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Dallas, where her faith and kindness touched many lives. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Kathryn is dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Troy Prestenberg and wife, Kim of Garland, Texas and Matt Prestenberg and wife, Cara of Sachse; daughters, Robin Brown and husband, Matt of McKinney, Texas and Amy Starnes and life partner, Bryan Ross of Livermore, Colorado; eleven grandchildren, Chase, Skyler and husband, Codey, Trevor and wife, Shelby, Lani, Michael, David, Johnathon, Joshua, Sophia, Scarlett, and Stella; three great-grandchildren, Gentry, Nolan and Lucia; brother, Jim Satery of Rockwall, Texas; and a host of other loving family members and cherished friends.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Kathryn’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/kathryn-starnes.  After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.  Kathryn will be interred next to her husband at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at  Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday morning from 11:15 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the funeral home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Kathryn's honor to the American Heart Association or First Baptist Church Dallas, both of which were close to her heart.
