Kathryn McGarrah, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at the age of 86.
Kathryn entered the world on January 30, 1940, in Irving, Texas, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of community and family. She graduated from Irving High School “Go Tigers” and carried that signature Texas warmth with her throughout her entire life. On February 20, 1969, she married the love of her life, Ted McGarrah, in Durant, Oklahoma. Together, they walked hand-in-hand through life’s adventures, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and hospitality.
A woman of steady Baptist faith, Kathryn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved listening to classic country music, spent countless hours scrapbooking precious family memories, and shared a deep, special bond with her beloved dog, Lucy.
While the family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace, her passing is met with a unique and poignant comfort: she has been reunited with her cherished husband, Ted, who preceded her in death in 2019. Kathryn’s legacy is carried on by her family, who will forever remember her gentle spirit, her wisdom, and the unconditional love she poured into the lives of those around her.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Martin and husband, David Good; grandsons, Lance and wife Amanda, and Jeremy Martin; granddaughter, Leah Miller; great-grandchildren, Landyn, Mia, Kay, Chandler and Finley; niece, Amber Rabel; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Ted McGarrah, son, Rodney Clark; and grandson, Sawyer Martin.
