Kathryn Gillette, age 40, of McKinney, Texas, passed away April 21, 2024. Kathryn was born September 17, 1983, in New Market, United Kingdom, to Michelle Yvonne McLaughlin. Kathryn married John Kelly Gillette, III on March 17, 2012 in Frisco, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, John Gillette of McKinney, Texas; sons, John Robert Walker and girlfriend, Rachel Steele and Blake Zebadiah Gillette, both of McKinney; step-son, Conner Gillette and wife, Michelle of The Colony, Texas; step-daughter, Kelly Gillette of Colorado; granddaughter, Kaliope L. Gillette-Salazar; parents, John and Michelle Addoms of Valley View, Texas; sister, Kristine Sherman-Curtis and husband, Mike of Reno, Nevada; nieces, Jennifer Lugo, Emma Rhew, and Elizabeth Curtis; and John Robert Walker’s father, Robert Walker and wife, Amanda.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Janet McLaughlin and aunt, Alice Meteer.
Kathryn was employed as a paramedic with Acadian Ambulance Service from February 2023 until her death. She enjoyed her new career that was cut short due to health problems. Prior to being a paramedic, Kathryn taught at Primrose Schools in Plano, Texas. She was also employed at Texas Women’s University as a professor where she also earned her Master’s degree in education.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2024, at First Frisco Global Methodist Church, 7659 Preston Rd., Frisco, Texas, 75034. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2024 at Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire Dr., Frisco, Texas, 75033.
