IN LOVING MEMORY

Kathryn Francis Farberow

Mar 30 1957 - Jun 10 2016

Kathryn “Kathy” Francis (Sickel) Farberow of Allen, Texas passed away on June 10, 2016 at the age of 59.  She was born on March 30, 1957 to John Andrew and Sue (Burkette) Sickel in Oakland, California.  Kathy grew up in Plano, Texas where she graduated from Plano High School in 1975.  Kathy worked for many years as a system administrator at EDS where she met her husband and many lifelong friends. She married Jeffrey Farberow on March 27, 1982 in Dallas, Texas. Together, they had two girls, Carrie and Brittney, whom they raised with unsurmountable love. Kathy’s fire and spunk, as well as her lifelong love of music and dancing, clearly shine through in both of her daughters.

Growing up, Kathy loved riding horses. As an adult, she became an expert card player. She enjoyed entertaining, and in particular, whipping up creative dishes in the kitchen for everyone to enjoy. Kathy always looked forward to vacationing, often with many of her close girlfriends, and spending time at the beach, “her happy place.”

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Jeff Farberow of Allen, Texas; daughters, Carrie Farberow and husband Stephen Saye of Denver, Colorado, Brittney Farberow of Houston, Texas; sister, Linda Mills and husband Jim of Littleton, Colorado; brother, John Sickel and wife Casey Hardin of Canton, Texas; half-sister, Brandy Allen and husband Charlie of Lavon, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; and step-brother, John David Cecil.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Dr. Danny Buster officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. A celebration of Kathy’s life will also be held from 3:00 to 7:00 pm, Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Bob and Sue Dunfee’s.

Memorial donations may be made in Kathy's honor to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
