Kathryn Ashley Crittenden

Kathryn Ashley Crittenden, 92, was called into Heaven on May 16, 2012. She was born February 12, 1920, in McKinney, Texas, to Norman and Bessie Ashley. A strong Christian, Kathryn was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Plano, where she had been active in her Sunday School Class, Friendship Club, and Sunshine Singers. She retired from Atlantic Richfield in Plano. Before Alzheimer’s stole her vibrant, active life, Kathryn was very involved in her community, was a member of Desk & Derrick Club, Plano Business & Professional Women’s Club, Thompson Book Club, Plano Christian Women’s Club, and DAR, Mary Shirley McGuire Chapter. The love and pride of Kathryn’s life was her family.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 73 years, Gene Crittenden, son, James (Barbara) Crittenden, daughter, Ruth Anne (Calvin) Donnell. She was Granny to five grandsons, Kent (Tonia) Crittenden, Curtis (Kendall) Crittenden, Brad Crittenden (Gillam Hall), Brian (Amy) Donnell, and Jeff (Sissie) Donnell, nine great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and Aunt Kottie to one niece and three nephews and their families.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, James L. Ashley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Dr. Jeff Donnell officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation prior to the service.
