Katherine Ann Collins

Katherine Ann Collins, incredibly loving daughter, sister, niece, and friend passed away at the age of 28 on Sunday, February 16, 2014, in Frisco, Texas. She was born February 6, 1986, in Amarillo, Texas to Kevin and Paula (Doolittle) Collins. With her family, she lived in Borger, Texas; Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Union, Kentucky; Clear Lake City, Texas; and Plano, Texas, where she resided. 

Katherine graduated from Bishop Lynch High School in Dallas, Texas, in 2004. She participated in a variety of activities including, softball, diving, and art. Katherine continued her studies at the University of Oklahoma, where she graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Price College of Business, with emphasis on supply chain management. Following graduation, she joined C.H. Robinson Worldwide, located in Plano, Texas, where she spent her entire career specializing in transportation logistics.

Katherine attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, Texas.

She is survived by her loving parents, Kevin and Paula Collins of Spring, Texas; brothers, William Collins of Houston, Texas, and Casey Collins of College Station, Texas. She will be remembered dearly by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers for her never-ending smile and unlimited energy to help others. She will also be remembered for her extraordinary relationship with her chihuahua, Stooey.

Katherine was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Torrance and Agnes Doolittle and paternal grandparents, Bernie and Jean Collins.

The family will receive Dallas-area friends during a visitation on Tuesday, February 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.

A traditional Catholic wake will be held at Skradski Funeral Home, 304 N. 6th St., Kansas   City, Kansas 66101, on Thursday, February 20, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 708 N. 4th St., Kansas City, Kansas 66101, on Friday, February 21, at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be sent to CureSearch for Children’s Cancer, a beneficiary of Katherine’s volunteer work through C.H. Robinson, at www.curesearchwalk.org/dfw/katcollins.
