Karl Alan Montgomery, age 51, went to walk with the Lord on February 25, 2009, in Waco, Texas. Karl was born on September 10, 1957 in Greenville, Texas. He was the son of Billy Earl and Peggy Leggett Montgomery. He was of the Baptist faith, and shared his love for the Lord with all who knew him.

Karl is survived by his mother Peggy of Sherman; his sisters Lisa Montgomery of Comanche, Texas, and Lou Ann Kenyon of Brimfield, MA; two beloved nieces, Leigh Anne Smart and husband Jason of Saginaw, TX and Sarah Christine Montgomery of Sherman, TX; nephews, Staff Sargent J.B. Kenyon and wife Christina of Norfolk, VA; Bobby Kenyon and Glenn Kenyon, both of Brimfield, MA; 5 very special great-nieces and nephews, DeLaney, Madison and Colton Smart of Saginaw, TX, and Bailey and Riley Kenyon of Norfolk, VA. He was preceded in death by his father and mentor, Billy Earl, and grandparents Mark and Tola Montgomery and Joe and Lula Childress Leggett.

The family would like to thank the VA Medical System, the numerous doctors, nurses and caregivers for the years of medical care and support given to Karl and his family. A special thanks to Darlene Terry of Waco, TX for her professional and personal care of Karl throughout his last years.
