IN LOVING MEMORY

June L. Buckley

Jun 08 1932 - Apr 30 2013

June L. Buckley, nee Pironti born in the Bronx, New York on June 8, 1932.  Passed away, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, on Tuesday, April 30, 2013.

June lived in New York, working as an Office Manager for PaperFlow, a business solutions company until her retirement in 1993.  She relocated to Allen, Texas to be with family and became an active member of Parks and Recreation; she particularly enjoyed Tai Chi with the active group of seniors.

She was a member of St. Jude’s Parish and was an active participant of the Knights of Columbus.  She also enjoyed bowling and gardening, however, her true passion was Scrabble.   A fierce competitor and a stickler for the rules, nothing brought her greater joy than trouncing her grandchildren at family gatherings.

In her youth, June was an avid tourist of New York, taking her children on weekend excursion to all that the City had to offer.

Central Park, Statue of Liberty, Museums, and Theatre, all for the price of a subway token.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Lavinia Pironti; her siblings Alyce, Lavinia and Ernest Jr. and her partner David Rodriguez.

She is survived by her children, Patricia and her life partner, Donna Ludlum, Regina, Michael and Richard as well as her grandchildren Deanna, Nando, Katie, Sean, Melissa and husband, Peter Kortykowski, Christina, Brian, Jenna, Regina, Diana and John.

Additionally, her sister, Emmy and her husband Warren Hicks, brother in law Hank Yabroudy, nephews Anthony, Henry and Paul Yabroudy; nieces Denise Tierney nee Porcaro, Diane Wilson nee Porcaro, and Nancy Gail Murphy and husband Steve.

Her zest for life and thirst for knowledge will be sorely missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W. Spring Creek Parkway , Plano , Texas 75023 with Father Bruce Bradley Celebrant. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
