Julie Anne Edwards Baer

Julie Anne Edwards Baer, 60, of Midlothian, Texas, departed this life to her home in Heaven following a courageous battle with cancer early Sunday morning, November 28, 2021.  She was born on July 14, 1961 to Donald Edwards and Ruth (Smith) Edwards in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Julie was a 1979 graduate of Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis.  She worked various jobs before she met her husband to be, David, at Youth for Christ in Indianapolis.  Julie and David were married on February 19, 1983 in Greenwood, Indiana. 

Growing up, Julie spent weekends boating and water skiing with her family on the Ohio River.

Julie enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, playing family games, birdwatching, Bible reading, her pets, and afternoon drives throughout north-central Texas.

Most of all, Julie loved the Lord, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She also had a heartfelt passion for special needs children.  Julie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

Julie is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, David Baer of Midlothian, Texas; children, Brittany Schick and husband, Joe of North Richland Hills, Texas, Justin Baer and wife, Randi of Melissa, Texas, and Jacob Baer and wife, Melanie of Gladstone, Missouri; grandchildren, Ella Schick, Briles Baer, Bowen Baer, and Julia Baer; brother, Gary Edwards and wife Carol, of Carmel, Indiana; sister, Kathy Woodall and husband, Rick of Davenport, Florida; and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.  Following the service, a procession will make its way to Melissa Cemetery for a committal service.

The family will receive family and friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
