Julian Manuel Vasquez, Sr.

Julian Manuel Vasquez, Sr., age 71 of McKinney, Texas has passed away on May 25, 2026.  Born July 1, 1954 in Missoula, Montana son of David and Marie E (Perales) Vasquez.

Julian married his high school sweetheart Carolina Solis of Bellaire, Texas in 1972.  Together they built a strong and loving family.  Julian was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

After graduating from Texas State University Julian started working at Hunt Wesson as a Sales Merchandiser and moved up to District Sales Manager and moved on to ConAgra with his sales skills. Julian was known for his talent as a salesman and his competitive spirit.  Julian’s success earned recognition and allowed him to attend many Super Bowls, NASCAR races and NBA finals, which was shared with family and friends.

Julian founded Taekwondo Academy in 1995, McKinney, Texas.  Julian embraced the art of Korean sword training, Haidong Gumbo. Along with his passion for Martial Arts, he also enjoyed golfing with friends. Julian’s passion and dedication earned the respect as a leader and mentor in the community. 

Julian will be remembered as the backbone of the family endlessly devoted to those he loved.  A motivator, mentor but also loving, supportive and hardworking a source of strength and encouragement to everyone who knew him.

Julian is survived by his wife, Carolina Vasquez of McKinney, Texas, son Julian Vasquez, Jr of McKinney Texas; grandson Michael Vasquez currently in the UK along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Irma Lugo, and brother, Pedro Zamora.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2026 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/julian-manuel-vasquez-sr. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park following the service.

The family will receive guests for a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday evening at the funeral home, with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.
