Julia Vladimirovna Schlensker of Murphy, Texas passed away April 29, 2021 at the age of 38. She was born on December 25, 1982 to Popov Vladimir and Popova (Koturgina) Elena in Khakasiya, Russia. Growing up she was a talented violinist, so talented the sound of her playing once brought Russian soldiers to tears. After graduating from music school, she briefly studied Law in Russia before she was determined to move to the United States. In 2001, Julia enrolled in the English Program at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She flourished in her new life and was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on January 12, 2002. Also in 2002, Julia met Colby Schlensker and they fell fast in love with one another. Colby saw her light up the room and he told a friend that night he had met the woman he was going to marry. Three months later, Julia accepted Colby’s marriage proposal and just four months after that took him as her husband. They were married on August 3, 2002 in Richardson, Texas. Her greatest accomplishments and joy in her life were their four children. Julia loved them immensely and her life’s work was their nourishment, joy, and success. She was the first to offer help to anyone in need, an accomplished photographer, and the greatest gift giver, always finding the right ideas for every person for any occasion. Her life was bright and adventurous, her stories enough to fill a book. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend.
Julia is survived by her beloved husband, Colby Schlensker and their children, Elena Schlensker, Veeka Schlensker, Kai Schlensker, and Zayd Schlensker, all of Murphy, Texas; father, Popov Vladimir; mother, Popova Elena; sister, Petrova Evgeniya; brother-in-law, Petrov Kirill; nephews and niece Sergei, Julia, and Gleb; grandpa, Koturgin Petr; grandma, Koturgina Evdokiya “Dunya”, all of Russia; father-in-law and mother-in-law, J.P. and Dedie Schlensker of Wylie, Texas; in-laws, Diane Schlensker, Lisa Schlensker, Marissa Kelso, and Rhiannon Kelso, all of Richardson, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends too numerous to count.
