Julia Baur (Tomzak) Verbeten, age 40, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021. She was born on May 8, 1981, in Oakland, California, to Eileen Anne (McGinnis) and Thomas Joseph Tomzak. Julia was raised by her mother, father, and stepmother, Suzanne. While working full-time and raising her beloved daughter, Julia completed an undergraduate degree program and then obtained her M.B.A. Most recently, Julia worked in Human Resources. She was proud to be a mother to her daughter and son. Julia loved to travel, especially beach vacations, and loved the Beatles, all things retro, Milwaukee’s KISS FM morning radio show, and sweets of all kinds. She was adventurous and always willing to take chances. Julia was dearly loved, and her beautiful smile and dimples, kind nature, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Hailey Verbeten; her son, Caleb Verbeten; her father, Thomas Tomzak and his wife, Suzanne Belmore, of Fredericksburg, Virginia; her brother, Garrett Tomzak and his wife, Melanie, of Spring Valley, Minnesota; her sister Amanda Regas and her husband, George “G.R.,” of McKinney, Texas; her nieces, Eleanor “Nora” Regas and Evelyn Regas; her nephew, Colin Tomzak; her beloved dog, Walter; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Eileen McGinnis, and her grandparents.
