Julia Anne (Hunter) Westrom of Addison, Texas passed away on July 4, 2017 at the age of 74. She was born on March 27, 1943 to Milton Irvine Hunter and Maurine (Bolt) Kent in Kilgore, Texas.
Julia is survived by her daughters, Jill Lowry and husband Stan of Mt. Vernon, Texas and Dr. Jennifer Buchanan and husband Michael of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Grant Lowry; granddaughters, Samantha Lowry and Caliway Buchanan; brothers, David Morgan of Spokane, Washington and Daniel Morgan of Garland, Texas; and numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurine and Milton; and her sister, Virginia Lynn (Hunter) Conner.
Julia was an inspiration to everyone who knew her! She loved her family and friends dearly. Her passion was to serve others and make each person feel special. She remembered to send birthday cards to remind everyone how much they meant to her.
She received her degree in Elementary Education at the University of Houston and taught second grade for several years. She was the first female to sell copiers for Smith Corona and was always top in sales. While living in San Antonio she owned her own high-end car dealership, San Antonio Motor Imports. Later she moved to Palm Beach, Florida where she set records for car sales at the Lexus dealership.
She retired on April 1, 2017 after 25 years of working with Ricoh where she garnered many awards and accolades. Her persistence, dedication and fighting spirit will always be cherished.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Piazza on the Green, 6200 TPC Drive, McKinney, Texas 75070.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julia’s honor to two charities founded by her daughters. Mt. Vernon Cares (mtvernoncares.com) is a non-profit mentorship program that benefits at-risk junior high and high school students who need physical and spiritual nourishment.
