IN LOVING MEMORY

Juiquitta Wynell McCormic Goodspeed

Oct 25 1932 - Nov 08 2023

Juiquitta Wynell McCormic Goodspeed passed away November 8, 2023, in Dallas, Texas at the age of 91. She was born to Joe Alton and Edith Kathryn (Nitcholas) McCormic on October 25, 1932, in Princeton, Texas.

Juiquitta loved the Lord with all her heart since she was a young girl and He gave her the love of her life, Doyle Foster Goodspeed, Jr.  They married on September 21, 1950, and for 72 years they built, together, a legacy of love for the Lord, His church, each other, their children and grandchildren, and all people who came their way. Although she was always, first and foremost, the gold standard for a “preacher’s wife” and mother, she had an interesting work life throughout the years as a licensed beautician owning her own shop at one time, as a professional shop lifter in loss prevention, as secretary of Christian Academy of Oak Cliff, and as the assistant administrator of South Haven Nursing Home.

Juiquitta was a member of Beckley Heights Church of Christ, where her husband preached for over 30 years and where they remained faithful members after his retirement. She dearly loved Beckley Heights and was active in many ministries there including The Golden Stars, Vacation Bible School, the High School Senior Banquet, the Liberian Christian Schools, World Bible School, and Studies in the Bible, to name a few.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Walling and husband, Wayne of Iowa City, Iowa; Wynelle Sexton and husband, Dan of Bells, Texas; Barbara Mankin and husband, Steve of Carrollton, Texas; Susan Goodspeed of Katy Texas; Lisa Noey of DeSoto, Texas; and son, Micah Goodspeed and wife, Stormi of Norman, Oklahoma; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and a host of loving family and friends.

Juiquitta was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle F. Goodspeed, Jr.; parents, Joe Alton and Edith Kathryn McCormic; brother, Bennie McCormic; granddaughter, Sydney Wells; grandson, Daniel Sexton; and great granddaughter, Samantha Cronquist.

A service in memory of her life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. The family will receive guests for a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. The service will be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/juiquitta-wynell-mccormic-goodspeed.

Interment will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Climax, Texas following the service.
