IN LOVING MEMORY

Juei-Yu “Janet” Hwang

Nov 15 1948 - Jan 29 2024

Juei-Yu Lin Hwang (林瑞玉 ), known by those who loved her as Janet, was born on November 15, 1948, to Mr. Shizhen Lin (林世楨) and Mrs. Xiurong Lin (林郭秀容). She left to be with the Lord on January 29, 2024, at the age of 75.

Janet, a loving wife, mother, aunt, and pastor’s wife, was adored by all of her many friends and family members. Although she spent her last years in Plano, Texas, her sphere of influence was significant and her impact on the people she touched spanned across continents.

Janet graduated third in her high school class and completed a bachelor's degree in accounting at National Taiwan University. In Taipei, she met her husband of nearly 50 years, the late Rev. Lee-Ho Hwang, whom she married on March 24, 1973, in her homeland Taiwan. Together they moved to the United States where she lovingly raised two sons with Lee while also working as an accountant. In 2000, following her husband’s calling, she helped establish Collin County Chinese Fellowship Church in North Plano. As a pastor’s wife, Janet served God diligently in the church. She also had a heart for the next generation and served periodically as a substitute teacher in multiple districts including a two-month session of a Chinese language class.

Making friendly conversation came easily to Janet. She was known by her loving kindness to all she met, and her fierce desire to maintain close relationships with all her friends— evident even until her final days. Her ability to connect with people at such a deep and personal level was such a gift and a joy to witness.

Janet is survived by her sons: Ken Hwang, his wife Grace and children: Anne, Adam, Ryan, and Sara; and Joseph Hwang and his wife Rebecca. She is remembered fondly by her many nieces and nephews and extended family.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
