Judy Marie Brown

Judy Brown of Tom Bean, Texas passed away peacefully on October 29, 2023, at the age of 82.  Judy was born on March 15, 1941 in Bells, Texas to parents Walter Lee and Robbie Cleo Dodson (more commonly known as Ma and Pa Dodson).  Judy married the love of her life, Bobby Joe Brown on April 16, 1977.  Judy attended school at the Whitewright and Westminister Independent School Districts.  Judy was a member of the Luella Baptist Church.  Judy was a caregiver by nature, shown throughout her career as a licensed nurse, where she was so passionate about the patients she cared for.  During her career, Judy worked at the VA hospital, did home health work on the side as well as worked for several clinics and physicians, in the area, before retiring completely.  In her spare time, Judy loved spending time with her friends and family.  Judy loved to garden and work with flowers.  Judy also loved her dogs, Zoey and Izzy dearly. 

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Robbie Dodson, brothers, Gene D. Dodson, Terry L. Dodson, sister Wanda L. Mitchell, infant daughter Glenda Marie Murphy, son Bruce “Butch” Alan Murphy and her loving husband, Bobby Joe Brown.

Judy is survived by her two daughters, Betty and husband Gary Gibson of Anna and Joanna Brown Curry of Sherman; sisters, Doris and husband Danny Rogers of Luella, Donna and husband Don Hamilton of Tom Bean, and Vicki and husband John Steward of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; brothers, Jimmy and wife Nancy Dodson of Tom Bean and Mike and wife Vickie Dodson of Keller; grandsons, Toby and wife Melody Perkins of Bonham, Bobby and wife Renita Murphy of Aubrey; and her only granddaughter, Megan and husband Chip Potts of Charleston, Arkansas; and several great grand-children.

Visitation with Judy’s family and friends will be on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:00am at the Luella First Baptist Church, Sherman, Texas, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00am, officiated by Pastor Bobby Hawkins with interment at Cedar Cemetery, Sherman, Texas.  Pallbearers will be Paul Jones, Paul Donoho, Aaron Hamilton, Toby Perkins, Adam Gafford and Rick Hamilton.
