IN LOVING MEMORY

Judy Kay Stanton

Apr 09 1941 - Jan 19 2024

Our loving mother, Judy Kay (O’Brien) Stanton, passed away on Friday, January the 19th, after a brief illness, at the age of 82. She was the daughter of Richard Paul O’Brien and Mary Kathleen (Bray) O’Brien. Judy grew up and spent most of her life in Celina, Texas. She married Donald Jack Stanton on June the 23rd, 1961, and was blessed with four children - Sherry Kay Mather (Husband Mike) of Fairhope, Alabama, Jimmy Jack Stanton (Wife Stephanie) of Tyler, Texas, Christopher Paul Stanton (Wife Julie) of Plano, Texas, and Cindy Leann Fergus (Husband John) of Aledo, Texas. She was christened as “Nana” when her first grandson, Alex, was born. Shortly thereafter came Abbey, Adam, Emily, Lilly, Luke, Jack, and Jake. Her great-grandson, Avery, was the latest addition to this loving family. During her long and productive life, Judy owned the first preschool in Celina and touched the lives of many children. She also served as the Tax Assessor for the Celina Independent School District until her retirement. She was very talented and had many hobbies, including making porcelain dolls and beaded jewelry. She loved sharing her talents with family and friends. Special thanks are given to the staff of Mirabella Assisted Living in Benbrook and the nurses and doctors of Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest of Fort Worth. Judy touched the lives of many throughout her life and will be greatly missed.
