Judy Beth Edens McKinney, 78, of Plano, Texas passed from this earth on December 7, 2024. She was born on October 21, 1946, in Sherman, Texas, to Jim & Jewel Duckworth Edens. Judy was a 1965 graduate of Bells High School and continued her education at Grayson College.
Judy met the love of her life, John Michael "Mike" McKinney at Grayson College. They were married on June 8, 1968, and she became known as “wife” (Mike borrowed this from his Grandad McKinney). Together they raised two children, building a home full of love, warmth, and cherished memories.
Judy’s professional life was marked by her passion for working with children. She enjoyed her time as a preschool teacher for many years, and later as a preschool director at Waterview Christian Preschool. Judy touched the lives of many little ones, guiding them with compassion and care. Yet, the role she treasured most was being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She found great joy in nurturing and supporting her family, and her love for them was endless. Judy supported Mike throughout his career which included many moves all over Texas for their family. In the past few years, she added another title and loved being “Nana” to her two precious grandchildren.
Judy had many talents and hobbies that brought her joy. Through the years she has enjoyed sewing, painting, and creating beautiful works with her hands. She had an eye for detail and loved sharing her creations with those she loved.
A devoted & faithful Christian, Judy was a member of the Waterview Church of Christ, where her & her family have worshiped for the past 34 years. Her strong faith in God gave way to her strength, kindness and generosity. Judy was known for a beautiful smile & her pleasant personality. She left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
