Judy Ann Daugherty, a woman who filled every room with laughter, kindness, and an unstoppable zest for life, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025 at the age of 82.
Born on February 1, 1943, Judy grew up in Pekin, Illinois, where she was a proud cheerleader at Pekin High School. As a gifted athlete, she excelled in tennis, golf and any sport she attempted. Carrying her competitive spirit and love of sports throughout her life. Beyond the courts and fairways, she was an artist with a creative soul, finding beauty in the world, and sharing it with those around her.
Judy never met a stranger and had an incredible ability to make everyone feel like a friend. She was always the first to lend a helping hand, whether it was offering support, sharing a smile, giving the shirt off her back, or simply bringing joy to those who needed it most. Her love for her family was boundless and she embraced every moment of life with warmth and energy.
She is survived by her loving husband, Hal Daugherty; her devoted children, Gary and Gail, PJ Johnson, her daughter-in-law, Trudy Henrioulle, her devoted sister, Ron Henrioulle, her brother- in-law, and their son Hayden. She made countless friends wherever she went, celebrated with her church family and so many loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
Judy’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and generosity. While she may no longer be with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of her life will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Judy’s memory by spreading kindness, sharing laughter, loving God, donating to a charity, and embracing life as she always did. Her energy and enthusiasm will be dearly missed.
