Judith Ann (Hill) Rand of Fairview, Texas went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2019 at the age of 78. She was born on November 1, 1940 to Carl Hill and Francis (Miller) Hill in Canton, Illinois. Judy grew up in Canton and was a 1958 graduate of Canton Senior High in Canton. In 1962, she graduated from Illinois State Normal University in Normal, Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education; she later taught for four years. Judy married Stanley Eugene “Gene” Rand on April 21, 1963 in Canton. She also worked 11 years as a swimming aquatics instructor for the Plano Parks and Recreation Department until her retirement in 1991. Judy was an avid tennis player and a proud member of Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a devoted member of Creekwood United Methodist Church in Allen, Texas.
Judy is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Gene Rand of Fairview, Texas; children, Barbara Eder and husband, Scott of The Colony, Texas, Jeffrey Rand and wife, Laura of Rowlett, Texas and Kristine Lonsway and husband, Mark of Countryside, Illinois; eight grandchildren; nephew, Jamie Hill of Rocklin, California; niece, Anastacia Parenti of Blaine, Washington and a host of other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Frances Miller and brother, Gary Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Creekwood United Methodist Church, 261 Country Club Road, Allen, Texas 75002. A reception will follow after the service at the church.
