Juanita Rose Hudgins
On July 31, 2024 God called home His precious daughter, Juanita Rose Hudgins. Born on August 23, 1950 to Roselle Carter in Wilmington, North Carolina and later adopted by Samuel Clarke Burgess, Sr.
Juanita grew up in North Carolina surrounded by her many cherished Carter cousins, aunts and uncles. Later she became the big sister of Sam and Cindi.
Juanita married Clint Wilson and became the proud mother of her adored daughter, Kimberley Anne Wilson.
Juanita later married Charles Hudgins and settled in a home they built among the dogwood trees in Palestine, Texas. She worked in the Medical Insurance field in East Texas and made many life-long friends.
Juanita had the biggest heart and therefore was able to pour out love to many people who were touched by her. She loved many things including friends and family; her church, medical and nursing home family; bible studies; game shows and soap operas; puzzles; BINGO; bird feeders; flowers; writing and receiving cards; and Diet Dr. Pepper. Most importantly she loved God.
Juanita, affectionately known as Ganny, is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hudgins; her parents, Sam Sr. and Roselle Burgess; and her brother Sam. She is survived by her daughter Kim; sister Cindi and brother-in-law Joe; sisters-in-law Dominique and Carrie; nephews Trevor and Carter; and nieces Emily and Ashley.
Juanita will be remembered for her kind soul who touched many lives, her courageous medical fight, and her ability to see God’s grace in everything.
