Juan J. Gonzalez, aged 74, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on September 24, 2017. He was one of seven siblings, born in Puerto Rico, to Maria Cristina and Juan Gonzalez. On December 1, 1974, in San Antonio, Texas, Juan married his soulmate, Virginia Bernal. They later settled in Arlington, Texas, where they raised their three children, and resided for over four decades. Juan spent his career as an electronic engineer, but family and friends knew him as a "Jack of all trades." He was a humble man of God, and shared his musical talent by playing the saxophone in the church band for many years. He loved his family unconditionally, and nobody was a stranger to his kindness. He could brighten anyone's day with his jokes, and always knew how to put a smile on your face.
Juan is loved and will be missed by his children, Christina Hanifan and her husband, Jason, of The Colony, Texas; John Gonzalez of Addison, Texas; Cynthia Estrada and her husband, Mario, of Rancho Cucamonga,California; Margarita Terrell and her husband, Tim, of Denver, Colorado; and granddaughters, Isabel, Kierstin, Lauren, Sofia, Madison and Nia; and siblings, Caleb, Maritza, Ana, Carmen, and Eddie; as well as his surviving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Juan is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, his sister, Nelida, and parents.
Family and friends are invited to a Visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033, on Sunday, October 1, 2017, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home in Frisco on Monday, October 2, 2017, at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Samuel Colón and Bishop Rosendo DeLeon officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033.
