JR. Ochoa of McKinney, Texas passed away November 25, 2023 at the age of 69. He was born on August 12, 1954, the son of Prudencio Ochoa, Sr. and Esther (Barrientes) Ochoa in Victoria, Texas. He married his beloved wife, Annette Ochoa, on September 3, 1989, in San Antonio, Texas. Their union was built on unconditional love, mutual respect, and a deep connection that strengthened over their many years together. Ochoa's greatest joy came from his role as a loving father. He was a pillar of support and guidance for his children, always instilling in them the importance of hard work, kindness, and the value of family. As a proud grandfather, JR found immeasurable joy in the presence of his grandchildren. Whether it was sharing laughter, and watching them grow, he treasured every moment spent with them. His love and commitment to his family were unwavering, and he leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and devotion. JR. Ochoa exemplified the true meaning of being a dedicated provider for his family. His unwavering commitment and tireless work ethic were evident throughout his career as a heavy equipment operator for Collin County.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Annette Ochoa of McKinney, Texas; son, Prudencio “Skip” Ochoa, III and wife, Jill of Conroe, Texas; son, Luke Ochoa of Houston, Texas; daughter, Amanda Phillips and husband, John of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, McKenzie Richardson, James Ochoa, Jaxon Ochoa, Trinity Ochoa, Kate Phillips, Holly Phillips, Allison Phillips and Grant Phillips; sister, Beatriz Ochoa Cummings of Houston, Texas; mother-in-law, Joyce Bagwill Wigington and husband, Jack of Merit, Texas; and a host of other loving family members and friends. JR. Ochoa's presence will be deeply missed by his wife, Annette, his children, his adored grandchildren, his cherished siblings and his wide circle of extended family members and friends.
JR. was preceded in death by his parents, Prudencio and Esther Ochoa; sister, Lydia Ochoa; brother, Richard Ochoa; sister, Luz Marie Ochoa; and father-in-law, Harold Bagwill.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
