Joyce Roark Holman Cagle

Joyce Roark Holman Cagle was born September 28, 1918 to Dud and Byrtie Roark in Decatur, Texas and passed away on July 9, 2021 in Farmersville, Texas. She is survived by her only child, Billie Goldstein and son-in-law, Dr. Mike Goldstein of Farmersville, Texas; grandson, Brandt and his wife, Christi of Waco, Texas and their children, Hayley, Hunter, and Jacob. Also, grandson, Col. Kyle Goldstein and his wife, Carrie of San Antonio, Texas and their children, Gatlin and Gracyn.

Joyce and Captain Bill Holman married July 3, 1942 in Lubbock, Texas. Captain Holman was an instructor pilot in the United States Army Air Corps for the B26. He died June 23, 1945 in the line of Duty. Joyce worked as a telephone operator after the war and later as an esthetician for Derma Culture in Dallas, Texas. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmersville.

She will always be remembered for her grace, kindness, great sense of humor, always doing her best and Being the # one fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

The family would like to thank caregivers Maria Gomez and Elera Igwe for their devotion, love and care over the years. Also, the Staff at the Lexington in Farmersville, Texas and the Villa in Princeton, Texas for their comfort and care.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 12, 2021 at the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Farmersville with Dr. Bart Barber officiating. Pallbearers include Dr. Mike Moore, Dr. Robert Batton, Mac Hurst, Hunter Goldstein, Jacob Goldstein and Gatlin Goldstein.
