Joyce Driggers of McKinney, Texas passed away on May 28, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born on December 2, 1932 to William Wesley Self and Lula Isabelle (Jordan) Self in Allen, Texas. Joyce was a graduate of McKinney High School. She married the late John Henry Driggers, Jr. on October 3, 1952 in McKinney and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage before his passing in 2000. Joyce was a sales representative for Texas Instruments in Dallas for many years. She had many hobbies and particularly enjoyed shopping. Joyce also loved to travel with her daughter, sister, niece and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Joyce will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter, Angela Driggers of Allen, Texas; sister, Frances Cooney of McKinney, Texas; niece, Diana Greer, also of McKinney, Texas; great-nephew, Jason Greer and wife, Kara along with their children, Hannah Howell and husband, Braden, Jonathan Greer and wife, Victoria, and Benjamin Greer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Driggers and her parents.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Accord Palliative and Hospice Care, especially to Joy and Diana. They also would like to give their most sincere thanks to caregivers, Judy Hargett and Janelle Johnson for the loving care provided to Joyce.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, June 2, 2023 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
The family will receive guests during a visitation on Friday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., prior to the service at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
