Johnny Joy Teague of McKinney, Texas passed away May 22, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born on September 6, 1930 to Charlie Renfro and Cora Lee (Russell) Renfro in McKinney. Joy married Tom Wayne “T.W.” Teague, Jr. on June 30, 1955 in Dallas, Texas and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage before his passing in 2009. She worked as an Optometrist Assistant for Dr. Upchurch for many years. Joy loved caring for plants, shopping and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a member of East Fork Baptist Church in McKinney. Joy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.
Joy is survived by her daughters, Roxan Burfield and Kim Green, both of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Kristen Toombs and Jeffrey Green; great-grandchildren, Tyler Green, Cheyenne Green, Faith Toombs, and Charity Toombs; and numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, T.W. Teague; parents, Charlie and Cora Renfro; brother, Donald Renfro; sister, Pat Berryman; and brother-in-law, Clarron Berryman, Sr.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2023 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013 prior to the service.
