Joshua “Josh” David LaVecchia of Silverdale, Washington formerly of Plano, Texas passed away May 25, 2019 at the age of 29. He was born on July 24, 1989 to David Thomas LaVecchia and Barbara Dianne (Garner) LaVecchia in Carrollton, Texas. Josh was a 2007 graduate of Plano West Senior High School in Plano, Texas. Upon graduation, he attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey where he studied microbiology and played football. Josh then transferred to Blinn Junior College in Bryan, Texas completing his associate of science and associate of arts. He completed his study of microbiology at Texas State University earning a bachelors in microbiology. For a short term, Josh worked for Grifols Laboratory in San Marcos, Texas. He took his talent to Washington State where he excelled in microbiology at Testing Technologies as Director of Microbiology. Josh was of Catholic faith.
He is survived by his parents, David and Barbara LaVecchia of Plano, Texas; brother, Dustin Tillman and wife, Dawn of Downsville, Louisiana; grandparents, Tom and Lori LaVecchia of Zephyrhills, Florida; five nieces, Brittney, Jordan, Samantha, Madison and Paige; eight great nieces and nephews; uncle, Charles Garner of Breckenridge, Texas; and aunts, Angela Fields and husband, Lewis of Bryson, Texas, Sheila Lasater of Denton, Texas and Emma Jean Martin and husband, Eddie of Bryson, Texas and Nancy LaVecchia of Zephyrhills, Florida,
Josh was preceded in death by his sister, Danni Tillman and grandparents, Calvin and Leila Garner.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
