Josh Alan Covington of McKinney, Texas passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 59. He was born on September 17, 1965, in McKinney, Texas, to Howard Joe Covington and Beverly Ann (Davidson) Covington, Josh’s life was filled with love, creativity, and a deep devotion to his faith.
A graduate of McKinney High School, Josh was known for his strong character, kindness, and enthusiasm for learning. He was a dedicated member of the Toastmasters community, where he honed his public speaking skills and made many lifelong friends.
Josh had a passion for the outdoors that began in his childhood. He loved spending time in nature, whether it was camping, fishing, or building forts with his friends and family. His fond memories of time spent at his grandmother's home were cherished and shaped his appreciation for life’s simple joys.
An artistic man, Josh had a love for music, drawing and writing that he nurtured from a young age, often using his creativity to express his unique perspective on the world. His artistic gifts brought him much happiness and were a way for him to share his soul with others.
At the heart of Josh's life was his faith. A dedicated member of Chambersville United Methodist Church, Josh attended every event and was deeply committed to his church family. His strong belief in God guided him through life's challenges, and his faith was a constant source of strength and peace.
He is survived by his sister, Joanna Higginbotham and husband, Danny of Van Alstyne, Texas; niece, Hannah Higginbotham of Van Alstyne, Texas; niece, Mackenzie Higginbotham of McKinney, Texas, and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Beverly Covington.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The service will also be live streamed at the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/josh-alan-covington.
