Joseph Lucian Buffaloe

Joseph Lucian Buffaloe of McKinney, Texas passed away January 17, 2021 at the age of 91.  He was born on January 14, 1930 to Joseph Henry Buffaloe and Flora (Freeman) Buffaloe in Huntsville, Alabama.  Joseph was married to the late Laura Criswell, then later married to the late Wilda James.  He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force from which he retired.  Joseph continued his civil duty working for the United States Postal Service to which he also retired.

Joseph thoroughly enjoyed fishing.  Whether it was reeling in a crappie off the river or fighting a red snapper from the gulf, he loved going fishing.  When he wasn’t looking for his next trophy fish, you could catch Joe on the dance floor.  Most recently, he enjoyed attending weekly dances with his girlfriend, Barbara Geiger of McKinney, Texas.  Joe was known to out dance people half his age.  On top of his dance career, he was able to recently visit Australia, Ireland, Scotland, and New Zealand alongside Barbara.    

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Oldright and husband, Bill of McKinney, Texas; son, Joseph A. Buffaloe and wife, Li of Garland, Texas; grandchildren, Crystal Parker and husband, Allan of Melissa, Texas, Joe Buffaloe and wife, Krista of Garland, Texas, Landry Jackson and wife, Chrystal of Anna, Texas and Tina Rosas and husband, Matt of Garland, Texas; five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Dorris and husband, Bill of Longbeach, Mississippi; numerous other loving family members and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Criswell Buffaloe; second wife, Wilda James Buffaloe; parents, Joseph and Flora Buffaloe; sisters, Lawana, June, Bendia, and Francis.
