Joseph Reid

Joseph John Reid of McKinney, Texas passed away on November 30, 2019 at the age of 74.  He was born on August 22, 1945 to William Alfred Reid and Ruth Ann (Grau) Reid in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he grew up.  Joseph was a 1963 graduate of Dobbins Technical High School in Philadelphia and earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Saint Joseph’s University, also in Philadephia.   He enlisted in the United States Army on January 30, 1970 and served his country proudly until his retirement on August 22, 2005.  Joseph also worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency, DIA and the Department of the Navy.  He married Barbara Eleanor McCue on August 10, 2008 in McKinney, Texas.  Joseph was an avid marksman and a member of the Frisco Gun Club. He was of the Catholic faith.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Barbara Reid of McKinney, Texas; children, Lori Michelle Everett and husband, Michael of Fulsom, Pennsylvania; Charles Joseph McCue of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Charlene Jean Mullen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Christopher James McCue and wife, Suzanne of Bensalem, Pennsylvania; Colleen Jennifer Nester and husband, Robert of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania;  and Cathleen Joanne Holland and husband, Richard of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; nephew, William F. Reid and wife, Stephanie of Frisco, Texas and their children, Ashley Reid of Denton, Texas and Brydan Reid and wife, Caitlin of Frisco, Texas; nieces, Sheryl Ann Holden and husband, Kip of Sachse, Texas and Mary Beth Moreau and husband, Nathan of Benkelman, Nebraska; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; and a host of other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Ann Reid; first wife, Janice Lynn Roccia Reid; sisters, Mary Lou Neill and husband, Walter and Carolyn Rodriguez; and brother, William J. Reid and wife, Constance Reid.

 A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment with Military Honors to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
