Joseph Jacob Pattassery passed away on July 4, 2023, in Murphy, Texas at the age of 84. He was born to John Joseph and KJ Mariyam on August 19, 1938, in Kottayam, Kerala, India.
After completing his education at CMS College in Kottayam, he joined and was trained in the Royal Naval Academy in England. He went on to work for Gulf Air in Bahrain, where he retired after a 33-year tenure as an Avionics Engineer, prior to joining his children in the United States. He was ordained as a pastor in the Indian Pentecostal Church in Bahrain, where he served in church leadership for over 25 years, including serving as the headmaster of the Sunday school & leading intercessory prayer ministries. He was also pivotal in starting a house church in his home in Kerala, India.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Pattassery of Murphy, Texas; son, Jean Pattassery (wife Judy) of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Jabeen John (husband Stan) of Murphy, Texas; grandchildren, Rebekah John Fitzgerald (husband Clayton), Sarah John, Philip John, Jessica Pattassery, and Jonathan Pattassery; sister, Alice Thomas; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Philip (wife Annie), Jessy (husband Baby), and Jaya (husband Sam); and nieces and nephews, Ronnie, Anila, Sirosh, Sunu, Reju, Viju, Manju, Sherin, Sanjai, Sam, Jubee, Bibi, Benji, Kezia, Keren, and Paul. He is also survived by two of his favorite dogs, “good-boy Bruno” and “good-girl Much-Much”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Joseph and KJ Mariyam; brother, Joseph John; sister, Susy Abraham, and nephew, Iju.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Northplace Church, 2800 Pleasant Valley Road, Sachse, Texas 75048.
