Joseph Clifford Flanagan

July 29, 1938 - February 11, 2018

Joseph Clifford (Joe) Flanagan, age 79, of McKinney, Texas, passed away February 11, 2018.  Joe was born July 29, 1938, in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania to William and Adele (Linkewicz) Flanagan and was one of six boys. He was a graduate and lifetime supporter of both Girard College and Pennsylvania State University, playing both baseball and football, two sports he followed intensively in later years. 

He married Marie Josephine Colonna on June 14, 1962, in Trevose, Pennsylvania and developed a long career in sales within the food industry. Joe enjoyed travel, including cruises, socializing with friends, and especially playing and watching golf. He was especially fond of the playing skills of Lee Trevino, Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus.  He enjoyed his numismatic hobby and studying the history of coins and currency.

He is survived by his son, Harry D. Flanagan and wife, Joni of Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Laura Flanagan of McKinney, Texas; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.  He will also be missed by his special friend and companion, Kay Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marie J. Flanagan and five brothers.

A graveside service and interment will be held 1PM, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.

Butch and Laura: I am so sorry for your loss. He was a great uncle and a confidant and most of all a great and honorable man. I looked up to him and will always love and honor him in my heart.
