José Roman Martinez, lovingly known as Pepe and, to his nieces and nephews, Tío Pepe, was born on October 26, 1982, in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, Mexico. On September 1, 2026, at 43 years of a most wonderful life, Pepe peacefully passed into the glory of our Lord.
Pepe will be remembered for his devotion to his family and friends, his generous spirit, his humor, his optimism, and his unwavering faith in God. Despite the health obstacles he faced throughout his life, he approached each day with hope and a remarkable ability to find the good in every person and every circumstance.
He is survived by his loving parents, Teresa Hernandez and Roman Martinez; his four sisters, Maria, Susana, Crystina, and Carla; his son, William; and his four nieces and four nephews, who will forever remember their beloved Tío Pepe.
Family was at the center of Pepe’s life. To his sisters, he was their brother, protector, helper, and undoubtedly one of their greatest sources of laughter. To his nieces and nephews, he was the Tío who rarely said no to a game and always had time for them. He loved his family fiercely and was deeply devoted to each of them.
Pepe had a lifelong love of cars—from driving them fast to making them shine like new through his detailing business. His work reflected something beautiful about the way Pepe saw the world: with a little love, attention, and care, beauty could be found almost anywhere.
Pepe was special. He was loved beyond measure, and the love, laughter, and kindness he gave so freely will remain with his family and friends for years to come.
