Jose Luis "Louie" Avila

Jose Luis “Louie” Avila longtime reside of McKinney, Texas passed away December 26, 2020 at the age of 68.  He was born on February 14, 1952 to Luis and Isabel Avila. Louie married to late JoAnn K. (Perez) Avila on July 14, 1973 in McKinney and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage before her passing earlier this year.  He was a concrete laborer and worked for the City of Plano.  Louie loved fishing, dancing and loved to joke around.  He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney.  Louie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother to his family.

He was survived by his daughter, Monica Avila with Cesar Cuellar; son, Luis Avila, both of McKinney, Texas; eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, Kaiden and Kaleb Garza; sisters, Maria I. Avila Garza, Rosa Furtado, Minerva Belmonte; one brother, Jose I. Avila; numerous other loving family members and friends.

Louie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, JoAnn Avila; parents, Luis and Isabel Avila; and nephew, Felipe Vargas Jr.

 In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the funeral service.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.  The service will also be live streamed at TJM funeral.com on Louie’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/jose-luis-louie-avila. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Louie and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.

A “come and go” visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen. A rosary service will begin at 6:00 p.m.  Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing and masks will be required.
