IN LOVING MEMORY

Jose Daniel Escamilla

Apr 14 1970 - Oct 23 2025

Jose Daniel Escamilla of Richardson, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 23, 2025, at the age of 55. He was born on April 14, 1970, in Los Angeles, California, to Jose Baltazar Escamilla and Julia Castañeda Santini.

To his loved one he was known as Daniel. Daniel was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Dallas, Texas, when he was 15 years old. He graduated from L.G. Pinkston High School in 1988 and went on to study diesel mechanics, a trade he was deeply passionate about. He loved working as a mechanic and took pride in his craft.

As the oldest son, Daniel served as a father figure to his siblings, nieces, and nephews, always offering guidance, support, and unconditional love. He was a devout Christian and a proud member of Kingdom Come Church in Dallas. Daniel was a God-fearing man. Throughout his battle against cancer, he remained deep rooted in God’s word and His promises until his last breath. Known for his kind heart and generosity, Daniel was always willing to help others and was loved by all who knew him.

He had a deep love for all animals and was always seen loving his dogs and his iguana. Daniel also cherished his 1968 Mustang, a prized possession that reflected his appreciation for classic cars. He enjoyed making others laugh and watching movies that brought him joy, with Stir Crazy and Tombstone among his favorites.

Daniel’s legacy will live on through his two brothers, Junior and Chava, who will continue to embody his strength and spirit.

Daniel is survived by his mother, Julia Castañeda Santini; sisters, Lorena Castañeda of California, Monica Castañeda of Texas, Guadalupe Castañeda of Texas, Julissa Escamilla of Maryland, Edith Gonzalez (Salvador Flores) of Texas, and Joevanna Montiel (Oscar Montiel) of Texas; brothers, Angel Gonzalez of Texas, and Salvador Gonzalez of Texas; nieces and nephews, Maya, Luna, Enya, Danielle, Shayne, Janenny, Julissa, Freddy, Sergio, Luis, Lorena, Julian, Marcelo, Lucas, Robert, Jael, and Adam; and a host of numerous other loving family and friends.
