Jose Cresencio Atencio's father, Abel, and my grandfather, Eleuto, were brothers. When I heard folks say "Joe" was "puro Atencio", I knew what it meant because he reminded me so much of my own father, Leonides. Joe had an independent nature, but he was loving and outgoing with a charismatic personality. Joe has always been one of my favorite primos...and, I'm so glad he was there to greet my sister, Araminda, on May 21,2011 ! Cidelia Atencio-Newman, June 19, 2011 My Uncle Joe lived with passion. He will always be remembered for his energy and single minded purpose to pursue his goals. He loved and was loved. May he meet his family on the other side to ride in their heavenly wagon. God bless you, Abby. You were his greatest blessing. Geri Atencio Fleming, June 1, 2011 I always loved it when Primo Jose stopped by to see my mom and his cousin, Cordy Jaquez, He was always full of life. (Other people would say he was full of something else!) That was the way he was. Always joking with you. He loved to ride a horse and I cannot recall how many times I used to see him riding his horse in, around, and near Ignacio! Rest in Peace Primo! Danny Ray Jaquez, May 24, 2011 I am so sorry for your loss. I remember meeting Jose at Tio Able's pool hall in Ignacio. Please know that I will hold your family in my prayers.
