Jorden Damon Avant, age 15, of Plano, Texas passed away on April 4, 2022. He was born on April 24, 2006 to Jamar Abdual-Jabbar Avant, Sr. and Mioshea Deniece (Boards) in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Jorden was of the Baptist faith. He was homeschooled by his parents, and Jorden’s hobbies included music, reading, and all sports. Jorden’s family was the most important highlight of his life.

Jorden is survived by his parents, Jamar and Mioshea Avant of Plano, Texas; brothers, Jamar Avant, Jr. and Jaiden Avant of Plano, Texas; grandparents, Floretta Simelton of Plano, Texas, Valorie Boards of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and James Wilson of Decatur, Illinois; uncles, Joe Simelton and wife, Bianca of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Bennie Avant of Houston, Texas, Monwell Wilson and wife, Patrycja of Kansas City, Missouri, Anthony Webster and wife, Nyila of Kansas City, Missouri, Baye Wilson and wife, Angel of Indianapolis, Indiana, Phillipe Wilson of Kansas City, Missouri, Randall Wilson, Dwayne Wilson, James Wilson, Jr. of Decatur, Illinois, and Carlos Wilson of Irving, Texas; aunts, Shavonna Moore of Decatur, Illinois, and Rhoda Avant of Cairo, Illinois.

Jorden is preceded in death by his grandfather, Joe Simelton; uncle, Linell Wilson; and aunt, Pier Wilson.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening, April 12, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
