Jonetta Orr Underwood Eubank, 94, of Clifton, Texas and formerly of Celina, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. She was born May 20, 1924 to John Henry Orr, and Mary Ellen Johnson Orr in Denton, Texas. Jonetta was raised during the Depression in Waxahachie, Texas. It was there that she developed many lifelong friendships and a common sense of living. Jonetta graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1941.
During World War II, while working at the United States Army Quartermaster Depot, Jonetta was one of two hundred from across the nation to be chosen for a special Pentagon program, the forerunner of the IBM punch card system. She later became a bookkeeper for Allis-Chalmers Corporation.
In 1947, Jonetta married Raymond Underwood. They enjoyed thirty-two years of working, raising a family, and being an active part of the Celina community. In 1986, Jonetta married her childhood friend, Herman Eubank. They enjoyed twenty-two years of retirement. She spent her final years in the security of her home, family, and friendships.
Jonetta lived a long, full, and wonderful life. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Jonetta had a unique way of expressing her opinion, while wrapped in love and care. She was never one to pass on a piece of chocolate. Jonetta never missed watching the Dallas Cowboys or the Texas Rangers. Her advice at the end of the day was to watch the sunset, and count your blessings.
