Jonathan Richard Sumners, of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at the age of 64, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 2, 1962, in McKinney, Texas, to Jimmy Ray Sumners and Billie (Williamson) Sumners. Jonathan will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, and unwavering support for those he loved.

A graduate of Plano Senior High School, Class of 1980, Jonathan went on to build a successful and respected career in printing sales. His warmth, integrity, and dedication served him well throughout his professional life, but it was the genuine relationships he formed along the way that defined him most. Jonathan earned the admiration and friendship of colleagues and customers alike, leaving a lasting legacy of respect and camaraderie.

On February 28, 1987, Jonathan married the love of his life, Donna Plumlee, in Plano, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, laughter, and devotion to family. Their marriage was a testament to partnership, faith, and enduring commitment.

Jonathan was a devoted and active member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Allen, where his faith guided his daily life and his service to others. His gentle spirit, generous heart, and warm smile were a comfort and inspiration to his family, friends, and community.

Jonathan leaves behind countless memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother in Christ, and friend.

Jonathan is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Sumners of Plano, Texas; daughters, Samantha Gobert and husband Nathan of Borger, Texas, and Casie Fahrer of The Colony, Texas; son, Sean Sumners and wife Kylee of Plano, Texas; cherished grandchildren, Emma Gobert and Maverick Gobert; father, Jimmy Sumners; and numerous other loving family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Sumners.

The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013, with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 30, 2026, at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 1914 Ridgeview Drive, Allen, Texas 75013. Following the service, Jonathan will be laid to rest at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.

After the committal service, all family and friends are invited to a reception at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. The reception will offer a time of food and fellowship, allowing loved ones to gather, share memories, and celebrate Jonathan’s life together.

Flowers are welcome. In lieu of or in addition to floral tributes, the family invites those who wish to honor Jonathan’s memory to consider a memorial donation to the Glioblastoma Foundation.
