Jonas Michael "Mike" Brown

Jonas Michael “Mike” Brown, age 72, of McKinney, Texas, passed away December 2, 2017.  He was born August 5, 1945, in San Antonio, Texas to Jonas and Katherine (Farley) Brown.  Mike graduated from Bishop Armstrong in Sacramento, California in 1965.  He joined the Army in 1967.  Mike served his country proudly during the Vietnam War until 1969 and was listed as a reserve until 1973.  He married the love of his life, Lupe Castillo on March 14, 1969, in Houston, Texas. Mike was a huge movie-goer. He loved to dance and watch football.  Mike was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.  Most of all, he loved being surrounded by his family. 

He is survived by his wife, Lupe Brown of McKinney, Texas; children, Stephen Brown and wife Patricia, Linda Sutherland and husband Jason all of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Jason, Tyler, Claire, Jacob, Macy and husband Cody; sister, Valerie Patterson of Colorado; brother, Joe Brown and wife Karolyn of Garland, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. 

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas and Katherine Brown and son, David Alaniz. 

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway N., Allen, Texas 75013.  The family will receive friends during a visitation, being held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home.
