Jon Carlon Harris, Jr., age 66, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, in McKinney, Texas after a brave battle against cancer.
Born in Dallas, Texas on April 11, 1960, Jon was a loving father and a remarkable friend. He loved watching football and rooted for the Cowboys, the Longhorns, and the Allen Eagles, enjoyed a good burger or BBQ ribs, and liked watching TV shows like Game of Thrones and NCIS. He was lucky to have retired early and spent his freedom doing all the things he loved. He spent hours creating a home movie collection, did sudoku puzzles, had dinner and drinks with friends, attended his niece’s swim meets and 5K races, and liked to keep up with the latest technology. He loved music deeply and instilled that same love in his daughter, with whom he used to sing when she was little.
His voice was booming. His mind was pragmatic. His smile was infectious. His heart was enormous. He will be missed deeply and loved in perpetuity.
Jon is survived by his daughter, Jamie Harris and husband Daniel; his parents, Jon Harris, Sr., and Jimmie Harris Fenley; his sister, Sheryl Kiser and husband Ted; his sister, Michelle Harris; his nephew, Trey Kiser and wife Kaliegh, along with their children, Jase, Jaks, and Cooper; his niece, Angela Stockford and husband Taylor, along with their children, Ethan and Emma; and his nephew, PJ Suniga. He is also survived by his niece, Samantha Evans.
