Funeral Services for Mr. Johnny Wayne Moore, 67 year old Leonard resident, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday November 4, 2016 at the Pike Baptist Church. Brother Jim Sherwin and Brother Shawn Stubblefield will officiate. Burial will be in the Pike Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 P.M. Thursday November 3, 2016 at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel at Leonard.
Johnny was born April 14, 1949 at Hughes Springs, Texas. His parents were Thomas Thumb and Oney Marie Shaddix Moore. He married Rita Sue Johnson August 5, 1969 at Greenville. He worked as a landscaping contractor. He took great pride in making lawns look good. He enjoyed the outdoors very much and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved to cut wood and was very careful to cut it just the way his customers wanted. He loved spending time with his family and he never met a stranger. He loved talking to people about the Lord. He was a member of the Celeste Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher.
He is survived by his wife: Rita Sue Moore of Leonard; his daughter: Lisa Gail Moore of Leonard; his son and daughter-in-law: Gary Wayne and Kelly Moore of Bailey; his daughter: Melanie Rochelle Miles-Moore of Leonard; his grandchildren: Megan and Gary Dunson of Leonard, Alyssa and Chris Mahurin of Midland, Albert Miles, IV of Commerce, Kristen Miles of Bonham and Kourtni Miles of Leonard; his great grandchildren: Ryleigh Mahurin, Trevor Dunson, Emmalyn Mahurin, Shane Ramer and Kaydence Dunson; his brothers and sister: Robert Moore of Hughes Springs, Dorothy Stewart of Royse City and Charles Moore of Leonard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Moore.
Donations in memory of Johnny may be made to the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Leonard to help with his funeral expenses.
