Johnny Glen Crawford

Johnny Glen Crawford of Rowlett, Texas passed away October 9, 2020 at the age of 58.  He was born on October 21, 1961 to G.W. Crawford and Jewel Tidwell in Garland, Texas. He graduated from South Garland High School in 1980. Johnny met Donna Joan Leslie at work, and they married on October 10, 1985 in Trenton, Missouri. He was a computer genius and found his career calling in I.T. He worked as a Solutions Engineer at Oracle for the past 28 years. Johnny was of Baptist faith.

Growing up he loved hanging out with his sister, brothers, and cousins, fishing, and going to concerts. He also began golfing and loved days out on the course. Johnny traveled the world for his work and New York and Hawaii were his favorite places to visit. Summer trips to the beach and more recently seeing Trans-Siberian Orchestra at Christmas had become yearly traditions with his family. At home he could usually be found working on a project or picking up a new hobby. Johnny was a lifelong Texas Longhorns and Dallas sports fan and loved attending sporting events with his kids.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Joan Crawford of Rowlett, Texas; son, Joshua A. Crawford of Rowlett, Texas; daughters, Rebekka N. Jones and husband, Taylor of Huntsville, Texas and Molly J. Crawford of Louisville, Kentucky; granddaughter, Harper Jones; brothers, Mikel Crawford and Gary Crawford and wife, Teri; sister, Joan Biggs and a large extended family.

Johnny was preceded in death by, his parents and brother, James Crawford.

A “come and go” visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.

In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only 100 guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, and will also be live streamed on the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Facebook page and a recorded video will be available following the funeral service on Johnny’s obituary page.

However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Johnny and show their support to his family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.

Following the funeral service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service where all are invited to attend the committal service maintaining social distancing or you may remain in your vehicle. You will be able to listen to the service through speakers set up at the gravesite.
