Johnny Ray Willingham was born on November 29, 1952 in Tahoka, Texas to John Henry and Virginia Mae Willingham. He passed away on January 3, 2021 in Sherman, Texas.
Johnny served his nation in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life Catherine Melisa Stephens on December 21, 1974 in Whitewright, Texas. Together they raised their daughter, Jessica.
Johnny was gifted with his hands. He worked for many years as a truck driver, heavy equipment mechanic and as an amazing welder. He owned and operated County Line Lube and Brakes for many years. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and hunting. But he just couldn’t hurt Bambi. He was a people person and loved people. He will be greatly missed. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Whitewright.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cathy Willingham of the home; daughter, Jessica Capps (Brian) of Whitewright; sisters, Martha Parris, Barbara Cain, and Elizabeth Carter; and brother, David Banke. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held 11AM Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Whitewright, Texas. Brother Dave Bradley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Brian Capps, Damon Harvey, Gary Christian, Jerel Harvey, Jim Busch, John Schmidt, Randy Pierce, Roger Capps, and Jamie Lawrence. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright. The family will receive friends for a visitation 6-8PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the funeral home.
Due to Covid-19 masks will be required for services at the funeral home. Social distancing is requested.
