Johnny Phillips, age 76, of McKinney, Texas, passed away June 28, 2008, in McKinney. He was born September 27, 1931, in Seymour, Texas, the son of Ollie Hubert and Retha L. (Russell) Phillips. He served his country in the United States Army. On June 10, 1981, he married Judy Miller Lenderman in Oklahoma. He retired from Nortel Communications where he was a maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Cannon Baptist Church Congregation. He is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Judy; sons, Mike and his wife Cindy of Princeton and Mark and his wife Kim of Wylie; daughter, Lea Shappell and her husband Trace of Longview; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother, J. E. Phillips of Texarkana. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Phillips in 2005. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 10:00 AM, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. John Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends during a visitation at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
