Johnny Joyce Neal of Allen, Texas passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025 at the age of 89. She was born to Thomas Jackson and Levoi Allene (Cullins) Barton on October 19, 1935 in Reed, Oklahoma.
Johnny grew up in Reed, where she met her future husband, Donald Gene Neal, when she was just 11 years old. They married seven years later and had three daughters: Patsy, Brenda, and Pam. Johnny was a devoted wife and mother and provided well for her family.
A talented seamstress and cook, Johnny loved making clothes for her family and preparing meals for those she cared about. She enjoyed gathering friends and family together and was known for her hospitality and warm spirit.
As an Air Force family, Johnny and Don moved often. Johnny’s caring nature and love for others traveled with her no matter where they were setting up home. After retirement they returned to Reed, and later settled in Fairview, Texas to enjoy being closer to family in their later years.
Johnny is survived by her daughter, Patsy Cadwallader and husband, Richard Harrell of Yuma, Arizona; daughter, Brenda Johnson and husband, Jim of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Pamela Scott and husband, Ken of Northport, Washington; sister-in-law, Melva Joyce Hughes; sister-in-law, Judy Squyers; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Neal; parents, TJ and Levoi Barton; twin brother, Tommy Royce Barton; and grandson, Matt Johnson.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 26, 2025 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
