Johnnie “Bud” T. Fonville, age 79, of Blue Ridge, Texas, passed away on June 4, 2017 in Blue Ridge, Texas. He was born August 5, 1937 in Desdemona, Texas to Zelvin and Lydia Merle Rainey Fonville. He was the fourth oldest of ten children. He married Virginia on October 8, 1981 in McKinney, Texas.
Most people knew him as Bud. His family was the most important thing to him; to them he was Dad, Daddy, Papa or Pop. Bud was a jack of many trades ranging from gas station owner, HVAC technician, electrician, plumber, but his real loves was his horses. He had his favorites, Streak and Little Foot. He enjoyed leather work, often repairing saddles and shoeing his horses.
Johnnie is survived by, children, Donnie Fonville and wife Angela, Jannie Fonville, Shelly Smith, Darlene Jones, Teresa Harris and husband Raymond, James Anderson and wife Shannon, Ronnie Anderson and wife Christie and Tim Anderson, daughter-in-law, Gale Fonville, sisters; Eunice Anderson, Gracie Porter, Linda Hawkins, Marylin Carroll; brothers, Burl Fonville and Charles Fonville, 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Fonville, son, Johnnie E. Fonville, sister, Oneida Melton and Zula Fonville, brother, Billy Jack Fonville. He will be greatly missed. Fly High Pop
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home. Bro. Butch Moorehead will officiate. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge, Texas.
